This position is based in Marlton, NJ and a future home in Camden, NJ


Key Responsibilities:

Implement company strategy and supervise a professional staff of Social Service Coordinators (SSC’s) in communities across the country.  The Associate Director is responsible for bringing Better Tomorrows mission and vision alive in the communities we serve.  A successful candidate will possess the skills to effectively communicate between the national office and community staff and create a feedback loop for constant quality improvement of program, services and employee engagement.  This role will have in-depth knowledge of the company's goals and plans, and the ability to take plans and goals a make them a reality in the communities we serve. Provide ongoing guidance and support to staff to achieve success through meeting their performance goals and metrics.  This role will be responsible for recruiting, building and inspiring a team of direct service providers to achieve personal and organizational success through coaching, hiring and managing.


Provide leadership in developing and sustaining an innovative program that promotes family self-sufficiency, academic engagement and success for youth and aging in place for seniors.   

Support staff through critical decision making and problem solving that may arise, such as; recommendations on client issues and concerns, relationship management with external partners, funders, customers, etc., time management, use of outcome based system, developing cost saving and effective procedures for improved service, resident engagement and service and program quality improvement. 

Support staff by ensuring their regulatory compliance by: monitoring regulatory agency requirements, ensuring compliance with all reporting, and leading the management of regulatory agency relationships.

Support and monitor partnerships and relationships with local donors and help coach and work with coordinators on resource development efforts and grant implementation.

Support staff to work with local service providers to link program participants to supportive services and ensure services are provided on an ongoing, regular, and satisfactory basis.

Work in collaboration with the National Team and local staff to help identify opportunities and create strategies for multi-site partnerships.

Create plans and support staff in their efforts to screen and train community volunteers in support of program activities.

Assure that all program and services development in communities reflects commitment to diversity, equity, and multi-cultural competence

Support staff in the implementation and continuation of the online data system to track program outcomes.

Monitor and support staff in managing community site budgets.

Help ensure systems and procedures are followed in adherence to national standards while maintaining Better Tomorrows brand requirements.

Responsible for team building, through employee engagement, recognition, recruiting and performance management.

Work with staff on the development and implementation of performance objectives and assessments.

Maintain a working knowledge of social service agencies, state requirements, and local resources available.

Review, develop, and recommend policy and procedure changes in light of changing conditions and in conjunction with staff input and program data.


Required skills, and experience:

Master’s Degree preferred bachelor’s degree required in Social Work, Human Services, Education, Sociology, Psychology, or a related field. 5 to 10 years of experience in the field of social services.

Proven experience as an effective manager and communicator.

Familiarity with supportive services in the affordable housing industry.

Excellent problem-solving skills and decision-making abilities

Proficiency in Microsoft office suite and other computer software database programs.

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Partnership Development experience preferred

Self-starter and creative thinker

Able to multi-task

Enjoy working in a fast paced environment
