Better Tomorrows Forges Novel Partnership with Daily Dove Care

Better Tomorrows, through Social Service Coordinator, Francesa Sellers, has entered into a unique partnership with Daily Dove Care.  The nonmedical, community-focused home health agency matches Certified Home Health Aides with patients living in 7 targeted counties in Pennsylvania. Sellers was curious about the organization’s services and wanted to see what it could offer residents of Mt. Vernon Manor, an affordable housing community in Philadelphia, PA.  The informational conversation with Daily Dove Care’s president blossomed into an offer of an $18,000 donation to help combat food insecurity.
The funds will be used to support a novel approach to food delivery.  Boomer’s Kitchen and Catering, based out of Philadelphia, PA, is deploying its food truck offering quality, fresh food to Reading Elderly in Reading, PA, Mt. Vernon Manor I & II, Jackie’s Garden, and Eight Diamonds in Philadelphia, and possibly other neighboring sites at which Better Tomorrows has Social Service Coordinators who facilitate services and provide case management. A total of 1,000 meals will be made available to children, families and seniors residing in those communities.  This is a wonderful example of how creative partnering can fuel positive change and spark new approaches to tackling tough challenges.
