Key's Pointe resident Sada Shaw had a really hard time finding work and was on the verge of giving up. She started meeting with the Social Services Coordinator to look for jobs and schooling opportunities. After meeting for several weeks, she decided that she wanted to pursue a career in the nursing field. Together, they worked to find a vocational program with a GNA certification. With hard work, Ms. Shaw completed her GNA certification and now works in a local hospital. Ms. Shaw was lacking in confidence at first but with regular meetings, encouragement, and persistence, she is now proudly employed at Bay View Hospital. She is better able to pay her bills and take care of her children. There were some challenging times during the COVID pandemic but she has persevered and is really doing a great job taking care of herself and her family.
