Ocean Towers

Ms. Lydia Bonilla is currently a resident of Ocean Towers, and has been living here over the past 10 years. She is the volunteer Arts & Crafts instructor at Ocean Pointe Elderly as well. She volunteers when she can, by helping with the food pantry, and volunteering to help clean up after events. She was chosen as an interesting story, because she keeps going no matter what!!! A couple of years ago, she was battling Breast Cancer, and the loss of her husband, but in the midst of it all she managed to pull through and keep moving forward. In her own words, “I have to keep moving, and staying busy is helping me to cope and to deal with my health issues.” As of 2018, she was able to declare she is a BREAST CANCER SURVIVOR!!!! It is the Better Tomorrows programming here at Ocean Towers that helped her through her moments - to be able to still volunteer and help out in the community is a great thing!!! She states that as long as she is here, she will always help!!!!
