Academic Support Program

Inspire Curiosity. Create Capability.

Every year, our school-aged residents struggle with maintaining school supplies for the year. You can help make a difference! Make a donation to help ensure they have the resources they need to succeed!

Academics for our Youth

The academic support program focuses on fostering a safe, welcoming environment where children can feel supported and encouraged to learn.  Our homework help and educational and physical enrichment activities create learning opportunities that supplement school-time instruction and aid in developing the whole child.
Research shows that some OST programs can support student academic achievement and may play a role in reducing health disparities.  Additionally, programs that follow evidence-based practices aimed at improving personal and social skills of youth are linked with positive social behaviors.

Academics for our Adult Residents

Better Tomorrows recognizes that learning is a lifelong journey.  Adult and senior residents are provided with resources and learning opportunities to meet their individual educational goals. Programs like parenting education, adult basic education and GED classes, and memory and cognitive support programs for seniors help to enhance personal and professional growth.

Opportunities for Success

Better Tomorrows strives to provide unique opportunities for all of its residents to be successful. One such effort is the Michaels Organization Educational Foundation Scholarship.
The Michaels Organization Educational Foundation grants scholarships to residents of their rental communities. Better Tomorrows works as a facilitating partner with TMO to outreach to and assist scholars in the residential communities it serves interested in attending a college, university or vocational training institution. Scholarship recipients receive grants ranging from $2,000 to $10,000 which can be used toward educational expenses. The scholarships are awarded annually and students may reapply each year of their undergraduate education for continuing grants.
